About this collection
When I hand over a portrait to a respected guest, it is not just about the lines or the shading. It is about the pause, the recognition in their eyes, and the genuine smile that follows. Whether it is a graphite sketch for a private meeting or a high-energy speed painting performance on stage, my goal is to turn a formal occasion into a personal, heartfelt interaction that captures the true essence of the person being honored.
My process for creating portraits for dignitaries and icons starts with understanding the context. These pieces are meant to be a mark of respect, so I prioritize precision and expression. I typically work with high-quality charcoal, pencil, or acrylics depending on the setting. For smaller, intimate meetings, I prefer the depth and detail of graphite or charcoal on heavy grain paper. These portraits are framed to ensure they are ready to be presented immediately. If the setting is a large public event like an award ceremony or cultural festival, I often provide live speed painting. I perform a synchronized 7 to 10 minute act, building the portrait live on a large 3x4 ft canvas, which keeps the audience engaged. I have had the privilege of presenting these works to various artists, musicians, and public figures. Every piece is treated with the same emotional dedication I give to my personal work. If you have an upcoming event and want to present a gift that genuinely resonates, reach out to discuss the subject and the atmosphere you wish to create.
