Grand Traditional Wedding Mandaps
I design mandaps that serve as a sacred, personal space for your vows. From rich floral canopies to antique temple touches, let’s create your perfect setting together. 🤍
A walkthrough of a spectacular wedding mandap I designed at Amitarasa. The deep red carpet and rose-covered pillars, paired with a ceiling of cascading tuberose strings (jaimala), created a truly royal and romantic setting.
The details of this traditional wedding mandap show my love for authentic craftsmanship. The carved temple pillars, brass lotus lamps, and a checkerboard backdrop made of fresh flowers create a space that feels both grand and deeply personal.
For this wedding at Taj West End, I used a beautiful mix of red and white carnations and roses to create a classic floral mandap. The hanging lotus bud strings added a delicate and traditional touch to the entire structure.
This wedding stage features a stunning ceiling of hanging tuberose and red rose garlands. I also used thick, intertwined floral pillars to frame the stage, creating a rich and fragrant setting for the couple.
This traditional backdrop features a geometric lotus pattern meticulously crafted from thousands of rose petals in shades of red, pink, and white. Flanked by banana plants and wreaths, it’s a beautiful example of floral artistry for a South Indian wedding.
Here is a closer look at the traditional rose petal backdrop. The design is set against a rich red fabric, with hanging jasmine tassels adding movement and elegance to the overall wedding decor.
About this collection
When we plan your mandap, it is not just about the flowers. I look closely at the stage lighting, the sightlines for your photographer, and the structural integrity of the floral pillars to ensure everything feels safe and intimate. Whether it is a traditional temple-style setting or a modern floral canopy, I make sure the space feels like it belongs to your family, not a catalog.
My mandap designs are grounded in South Indian heritage but carry a contemporary polish. I often use Kuthu Vilakku (brass lamps), banana plants, and urulis alongside premium fresh florals like jasmine (Mallige), tuberose, and roses. Whether you want a dense 'green wall' of woven banana leaves or a romantic canopy of cascading lotus buds, the goal is to create a space that feels deeply personal.
I work with venues across Bengaluru, from heritage properties like the Taj West End to private estates like Amitarasa. For these grand setups, I consider everything: the stage height, the weight of the floral arrangements, and the lighting—using LED PAR cans to highlight the temple-inspired carvings or brass details.
I am particularly fond of incorporating Pichwai art or deity-themed motifs—like Krishna or Balaji—to add a soulful touch to the mandap. If you are looking for an eco-friendly approach, I minimize plastics, preferring to use natural materials, reusable wooden frames, and fresh, locally sourced blooms. Let’s create a mandap that is beautiful to look at and meaningful to stand under.
