About Glamorous & Fine Art Gowns
The magic in these portraits comes from the coordination of fabric and light. During your session, I personally assist with gown draping and posing to achieve that effortless, flowing fabric effect you see in the gallery. We focus on specific, flattering angles that celebrate your bump, while managing the lighting to ensure every silhouette looks powerful and soft at the same time.
The Fine Art of Maternity Photography
Creating a fine art portrait is more than just clicking a button. It is a process of styling and collaboration. In my Kharghar studio, we prioritize a 3 to 3.5 hour session length for our Signature Glamour packages, which gives us the time to perfect the complex drapes and dramatic lighting setups that define this style.
What Happens During the Session
- Gown Draping: I provide access to my couture wardrobe, including ruffled tulle and silk drapes. If you choose the Signature package, we incorporate the 'flying fabric' technique, which requires an assistant to ensure the material catches the light perfectly.
- Lighting and Mood: We work with moody, studio-controlled lighting to create shadows that define your silhouette. Whether you prefer the regal look of a golden sunburst crown or the soft touch of floral accessories, every prop is intentional.
- Posing Guidance: You do not need to be a model. I guide you through every movement, ensuring your hands are placed to accentuate the bump and your expression reflects your personal journey.
Timing Your Visit
I always recommend booking your session between week 28 and 34. This is the sweet spot where the bump is beautifully round, but you are still comfortable enough to move through the poses we need for these dramatic shots. If you have a specific vision, such as a Raja Ravi Varma inspired aesthetic or a classic monochromatic look, please share that when we chat, so I can have the specific backdrops and props ready in the studio.
