Solo Kathak Recitals
A solo performance is an intimate journey where I explore the depths of Kathak, from intricate footwork and fast-paced chakkars to subtle abhinaya. These recitals, always accompanied by a live orchestra, are perfect for cultural festivals and connoisseurs of classical dance seeking a powerful, personal artistic experience.
Pooja Pant Dance Company: Grand Productions
For a truly grand and immersive experience, I offer large-scale group productions with my dance company. We present thematic choreographies like 'Ek Anant' based on the Ramayan, and 'Samanvay', which showcases pure technical Kathak. These shows are ideal for large corporate events, cultural festivals, and ticketed public performances.
Collaborations: The Art of Jugalbandi
I love collaborating with artists from other disciplines, as it pushes my creative boundaries. This includes 'Raag Raagini', a full-length duet with Bharatanatyam dancer Parshwanath Upadhye, and experimental pieces with beatboxers. These jugalbandi performances are a unique fusion of styles, perfect for audiences who appreciate innovative artistic dialogues.
Sufi & Devotional Kathak
My performances often explore themes of spirituality, drawing from both the Bhakti and Sufi traditions. I offer traditional pieces like Ganesh Vandana and Shiva Dhrupad, as well as contemporary choreographies set to Sufi poetry and kalams. These soulful performances are perfect for cultural evenings, spiritual gatherings, and private events seeking a contemplative and uplifting atmosphere.
Performances for Corporate & Special Events
I and my dance company are experienced in performing for a wide range of events, including corporate functions, award ceremonies, and public festivals. We have performed for clients like State Bank of India, Hindustan Petroleum, and the Times of India. We tailor our performances to suit the occasion, whether it's a traditional invocation or a grand fusion piece.
The Creative Process: Riyaaz & Rehearsals
The magic on stage is born from hours of dedicated practice, or 'riyaaz'. This is where the real work happens, from grueling technical drills to creative collaborations with my musicians. These glimpses into our rehearsals show the discipline, passion, and shared vision that go into every performance.
Abhinaya: Expressions & Storytelling
Abhinaya is the heart of Kathak, the art of telling stories through expressions, gestures, and emotions. I enjoy exploring a range of narratives, from mythological tales and devotional bhajans to interpreting ghazals and thumris. These pieces showcase the depth and emotional range of Kathak.
