About Just For Kids: Simple & Sweet Portraits
My Jhotwara studio is designed to be a calm space, which makes a huge difference for little ones who might get overwhelmed by bright lights or busy props. We keep these sessions short, focusing on clean backdrops and simple items like a favorite teddy or wooden chair that put your baby’s natural expressions front and center.
Why less is more
When we strip away the elaborate backdrops and costumes, we are left with the only thing that matters: your child's personality. These simple, sweet sessions are perfect for documenting those fleeting developmental milestones. Whether they are starting to sit up, showing off those first teeth, or just having a curious day, these photos act as a quiet, honest diary of who they are right now.
The Studio Experience
I run my studio in Jhotwara as a relaxed, patient space. I understand that kids have their own schedule. If they need a break, we take one. If they are feeling shy, we take a few minutes to let them play with a toy until they are comfortable. My goal is never to rush, because genuine smiles cannot be forced.
Practical Details
For these sessions, I provide the props—simple wooden crates, fur rugs, and plush toys—so you don't have to worry about bringing extra gear. I recommend bringing two of your favorite outfits for the baby so we can switch it up if we need to. These sessions typically last 60 minutes, which is just enough time to get a variety of expressions without tiring out your little one.
Getting the Best Shot
- Timing: The best time to schedule is right after their nap, when they are most likely to be happy and alert.
- Outfits: Simple, solid colors or textures work best against our clean studio backgrounds. Avoid large logos or busy patterns that take the focus away from their face.
- Preparation: If they have a specific toy they love, please bring it along. Often, having a familiar comfort object helps them feel brave in front of the camera.
