My Process: Capturing Connection Through Trust
Great photography begins long before the shutter clicks. My method focuses on patience, non-violent communication, and letting your animals simply be themselves.
This video shows my process of building trust with a horse. I let her approach and smell me, creating a connection based on calmness and respect. This quiet understanding is the foundation for all my equine photography.
Here you can see me working with a mare in a training ring. My approach is about understanding the horse's language and using non-violent communication to build a respectful partnership, which allows their true spirit to shine.
A truly special moment of connection. This video captures a quiet hug with a gentle mare, a beautiful exchange built on mutual trust and a calm presence. These are the moments that fuel my passion.
A glimpse from my perspective while on a ride through the countryside at sunset. Being a rider helps me understand horses on a deeper level, which translates directly into my ability to capture them authentically.
A behind-the-scenes peek at a baby and pet photoshoot in a natural setting. This clip shows the gentle and patient process of setting up the shot to capture that perfect, heartwarming moment between the two little ones.
About The Art of Connection: My Process
I don't believe in forcing a pose. Whether it is a horse or your family dog, I dedicate the first part of every session to just being with them, allowing them to sniff, explore, and relax until they are comfortable enough to show their true personality.
The core of my photography isn't about cameras or lighting—it's about the silent conversation between me and the animal. Most people think they need a studio or treats to get a good photo, but the best moments happen when we stop trying to control the outcome.
In my sessions, I use principles of non-violent communication. If a horse is nervous, I do not push. We wait. We walk. I let them smell my camera and get used to my energy. This is why I schedule two hours for every shoot—it is not for me, it is for them. Patience is the only way to get a shot that feels real.
Whether we are in a Mulund forest or at your local stable, my goal is to remove the human influence from the frame. I handle the editing to remove leashes and distractions, so all you see is the bond. If you want a photo where your pet looks stiff and perfect, I might not be the right person. But if you want a memory where they look like themselves—wild, curious, or gentle—then we will get along perfectly.

I’m Payal. I chase sunlight, not studio lights. I believe photography is about the bond you share, so I don't force poses. I prefer messy, real moments where your pets can just be themselves.
