Hand-Painted Custom Portraits in Vintage Filmy Style
Bring your photos to life with authentic, hand-painted portraits. I create dramatic, old-school cinema-style posters and custom figures, straight from my studio in Old Delhi.
A powerful portrait of the freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, captured in my signature bold style against a black background.
A modern take on a classic theme: a goddess-like figure with an elephant, taking a selfie. I love blending traditional motifs with contemporary ideas for custom art.
A traditional painting of a woman at a ghat, showcasing a more classical Indian art style that I am also skilled in.
A custom piece titled 'Peacock & Fish', featuring a portrait in a traditional setting alongside other figures and motifs.
The completed portrait of Chandra Shekhar Azad against a vibrant red background, highlighting the intensity of the figure.
A custom piece for a client in the UK, featuring a tiger portrait and bold lettering in the classic Indian truck art style.
A video showcasing the finished 'Ted & Albert' tiger portrait painting.
A detailed shot of the 'Villa Bam Bam' painting, showing the three distinct panels featuring different figures and styles.

About Custom Portraits & Figures
When you send me a photo, I do not simply paint a copy. I study your features and reimagine you as the hero of a classic Bollywood film poster. Every detail, from the dramatic lighting to the hand-lettered titles in Hindi, Urdu, or English, is executed with enamel paints on cotton canvas, giving you that authentic, glossy theatre-hoarding look from the past.
People often ask why I stick to brushes when everything else has gone digital. For me, a painting needs a soul, and you cannot get that from a machine. My custom portrait work is about bringing back the grand, larger-than-life feeling of the vintage cinema era. Whether you want a portrait of a freedom fighter like Chandra Shekhar Azad or a fun painting of yourself, the approach remains the same.
I use high-gloss synthetic enamel paints because they hold color and age beautifully, just like the old posters outside theatres in Delhi. The process starts with your reference photo. I sketch the composition first, adding flourishes and border elements that fit your personality or the theme you have in mind. If you want a specific vibe, I can incorporate calligraphy in any script—Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, or English.
You can choose between different formats to suit your space. The standard 2ft x 3ft canvas is perfect for home walls, while my 6ft life-size cut-outs are designed for events where you want people to stop and take photos. I have shipped these pieces to the UK, USA, and across India. Since I work from my studio in Bazar Matia Mahal, every piece carries the history and energy of Old Delhi. If you have an idea, a favourite movie, or just want to see yourself in a different light, let us talk about how to bring that to life on canvas.
