About Classic Bollywood Poster Replicas
My work is entirely manual—I do not use computers, printers, or digital software. Every poster starts with a pencil sketch directly on the canvas, followed by layers of hand-mixed oil paints that require days to dry. This isn't just a print; it is a tactile, oil-on-canvas recreation that retains the distinct smell of turpentine and the genuine, human imperfections of brushwork, designed to age beautifully on your wall.
When you look at these posters, you are seeing oil-on-canvas work, not a digital print or a mass-produced reproduction. I work from my studio in Bazar Matia Mahal, Old Delhi, using high-gloss synthetic enamels. These are the same materials and techniques used for iconic theatre hoardings during the golden era of Indian cinema.
When I recreate a classic like 'Bombay to Goa' or paint a custom 'Filmy' portrait for your living room, I begin with a red-line sketch directly on the fabric. I build the figures, the dramatic expressions, and the typography by hand, layer by layer. You will notice the texture of the brush strokes and the depth of the colors—details that a computer can never replicate.
These pieces are perfect for collectors of vintage cinema decor or anyone wanting to add a bold, retro aesthetic to their space. Because every stroke is made by hand, each piece carries its own unique energy. Whether you want a faithful replica of a film poster or a custom portrait where you and your family are the stars of a 70s action flick, the process remains the same: pure, traditional artistry built to last. If you have a specific scene, movie, or concept in mind, reach out to discuss the dimensions and the composition.
Kafeel Artist
I am Kafeel, an artist based in Bazar Matia Mahal, Old Delhi. I have spent my life mastering the brush, keeping the art of hand-painted cinema alive while the rest of the world moved to computers. When you commission a poster from me, you are getting a piece of that lost history, painted by hand just as it was decades ago.
