Design Philosophy
Each project gets its own narrative. I balance form and function, never forgetting the details that make spaces feel crafted and alive. Sometimes tradition leads, sometimes fresh ideas take over, but it’s always a mix that suits the context.
- Modern heritage homes: blending old with new, like the Jaipur House where I used a red sandstone jali to filter sunlight and keep privacy, plus give a nod to Rajasthani roots.
- Warm minimalism: calm, simple spaces, lots of natural textures.
- Urban reinterpretation: in packed cities, I rethink facades to add character and make buildings stand out.
- Neo-Classical touches: clean symmetry and classic materials for a timeless look.
Building for Life
I focus on sustainable building design, working with nature instead of fighting it. Breathing facades let light and air flow, and terraces or balconies bring in green wherever possible.

My Story
We’re Kanika and Gautam, founders of NUAR Studios. Our roots stretch from Jaipur to Milan, Amsterdam, Rotterdam—bit of everywhere, honestly. I (Gautam) nerded out in Delft, Kanika aced it in Milano. We’ve worked with all sorts—Europe, India, you name it. NUAR isn’t just about fancy walls. We like spaces that actually belong to where they stand. Art, architecture, stories—put us in the middle of all that, and we’re just happy.
