Year-Round Flowering Plants for Your Garden
A garden that stays green is good, but one that blooms all year is better. From hardy Bougainvillea to fragrant Madhumalti, here are my top picks for plants that bring consistent colour to your home, balcony, or garden.
Bougainvillea is my favorite plant for summers because it is so hardy. Even if you give it less water, it rewards you with more flowers. It's the perfect plant for beginners and adds a lot of colour.
Don't leave the corners of your gate empty. A colourful Bougainvillea creeper like this one can completely change the look of your entrance. I have many colours, including this unique reddish-orange that you won't find easily.
This is Verbena, a ground cover that flowers for 12 months. It comes in four colours: pink, red, white, and blue. The more you trim it, the more flowers it produces, creating a beautiful carpet of colour.
This is the Firecracker plant, also known as Russelia. We sell them in pots, not just bags, so you get a well-grown, bushy plant that is already exploding with these bright red, firecracker-like flowers.
This is the dwarf variety of Madhumalti, which is perfect for balconies and flats. It gives lots of fragrant flowers on a small plant, so you can enjoy its beauty and scent even in a compact space.
This plant is special. Its leaves turn red when it blooms, and the flowers are very fragrant. From a distance, it looks like birds are sitting on the plant. It's a perfect plant for landscaping.
I have many varieties of Bougainvillea available, starting from just ₹150. You can find them in pink, white, and other unique shades, all healthy and full of flowers.

This is the dwarf Madhumalti, ideal for a flat's balcony. Unlike the taller variety, this one starts flowering early and fills your space with its lovely fragrance.
The Firecracker plant, or Russelia juncea, is a hardy ground cover that flowers all year round. It looks like a fountain of red flowers and thrives in any weather.
About Year-Round Colour: Flowering Plants
Don't buy plants based only on a photo you see online. Most flowering plants sold in plastic bags are spindly and take months to settle. At my nursery, I prep them in pots with a soil mix that promotes root health from day one, so you get a bushy, ready-to-bloom plant the moment you take it home.
Gardening in Delhi-NCR requires plants that can handle our extreme weather shifts. I do not believe in selling plants that just look good for a week. When you visit my nursery in Sector 91, you will see the difference in how we grow our stock.
Why my flowering plants are different
Many sellers offer saplings that are struggling to survive in thin bags. I prefer selling mature, well-potted plants. Take my Bougainvillea collection. These are hardy creepers that I have trained to be bushy, not leggy. If you want a gate corner to pop with colour, these are the plants that will hold their own in the summer heat.
For smaller spaces like apartment balconies, I recommend the dwarf Madhumalti. Unlike the wild variety that grows huge and requires space, this version is compact but gives you the same heavy fragrance and flower count. It is ideal for pot life.
Ground cover and shrub options
If you have a lawn or a bed that looks empty, consider the Firecracker plant or Verbena. The Firecracker plant (Russelia) acts like a fountain of red, and it is incredibly tough. Verbena is another favourite because it acts as a ground cover that blooms in cycles throughout the year. The trick with Verbena is regular pruning. Many people stop trimming, which makes the plant woody, but I advise constant cutting to encourage new growth and more flowers.
I encourage you to visit the nursery and walk through these sections yourself. You can touch the plants, check the root health, and see the colours in person. If a plant is out of season or won't work in your home lighting, I will tell you before you buy it.
