About Portraits of Connection: Couples & Families
For my Family and Couple Heirloom sessions, I allow three to four hours for a reason. Real moments cannot be forced or rushed. We will spend time setting the scene—whether at my Palam Vihar studio or your home—focusing on genuine interaction rather than stiff, posed photography. My editing process is entirely manual, using traditional dodging and burning to shape light and shadow, which creates an authentic, timeless quality you will not find in standard digital presets.
My Approach to Family Portraits
Photography is not just about a pretty image; it is about documenting the story of a relationship. Whether I am shooting a couple celebrating a lifetime of companionship or a family gathering, I focus on the quiet, intimate interactions that reveal who you actually are. My work does not rely on heavy Photoshop manipulation. I follow the classic darkroom tradition where I manually sculpt light and shadow. This results in photographs with depth and texture that digital filters simply cannot replicate.
Where We Shoot
- Palam Vihar Studio: A controlled space designed for focused, dramatic portraits. This is ideal if you want to eliminate environmental distractions and center the entire image on your expressions and connection.
- Your Home: I travel across Delhi NCR for on-location shoots. Bringing my camera to your personal space often results in more relaxed, natural photographs because you are in an environment where you feel most comfortable.
What to Expect During Your Session
My sessions are built for a relaxed pace. We are not watching the clock to hit a certain number of poses. We take the time to move, interact, and find the right angle. For group sessions, I include a lighting assistant to manage complex setups, ensuring that everyone is lit beautifully, even in larger family portraits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide makeup and hair styling? No. My focus is on the photography and the concept. I encourage clients to come as they are, or to arrange for their preferred stylists before the session.
Can we choose between black and white and color? My signature style is black and white, as it strips away distraction and highlights the soul of the subject. However, we can discuss your preference during our initial consultation.
What rights do I get with the images? You receive high-resolution digital images for personal use, such as social media, personal printing, or framing in your home. My work is copyrighted, and I maintain the rights to the intellectual property of the images.
