About The Art in Progress
The secret to clean bridal mehndi is the patience of the first outline. When I draw a doli scene or a portrait, I do not rush the initial sketch. I map out the proportions on your skin first to make sure the figures look right, ensuring your wedding design remains sharp and clear in your professional photographs.
For the past 17 years, I have believed that your mehndi should be more than just a pattern. It should be a part of your shaadi ki kahani (wedding story). When you see the work in this gallery, you are looking at the stages of my process.
The Process
My style, especially in Rajasthani and Marwari designs, relies on mirror-image symmetry and high-density detailing. For 'Signature Love Story' packages, I personally handle the portraits and figurative elements. This takes time—often 6 to 8 hours—because drawing a face or a ceremony scene requires a steady hand and a fine-tip cone to capture expressions accurately.
Material and Technique
I only use triple-sifted, organic henna mixed with eucalyptus and clove oil. The process starts with a light layout of the main motifs—like peacocks, elephants, or your requested portraits—before we fill in the intricate 'bhara hua' (filled) background work. My team helps with the basic filling and repetitive patterns, which allows me to focus on the storytelling parts of your design.
What to Expect
If you are planning to book, keep in mind that custom portraits and full-arm storytelling designs require careful planning. If you want to include specific elements like your proposal scene or a portrait of your parents, just share the reference photos with me in advance. I will sketch the layout on the day to ensure it fits the natural curve of your arms and feet perfectly.
