About The Art in Motion: Our Process
Creating a bridal design takes 4 to 9 hours depending on the detail, but the work actually starts much earlier. I make my own henna paste using natural ingredients, which is why I can promise that deep, dark stain. When you watch me work, you are seeing years of practice applied to your skin, layer by layer, without any harsh chemicals.
Many people think mehandi is just drawing on hands. For me, it is a two-part process: preparation and application. I never rely on store-bought chemical cones. I prepare my own herbal henna paste from scratch, ensuring it is safe for your skin and rich in color. That signature deep maroon stain everyone wants? It comes from using pure, quality ingredients.
My Technique
When I am working on your arms, you will notice I focus on symmetry and flow. Whether it is the intricate jaal (net) patterns, geometric mandala shapes, or the advanced 3D shading techniques, every line is intentional. If we are doing a bridal session, I start with the outlines and build up the density, ensuring the negative space remains balanced. This is how I achieve that clean, sharp look that stands out in wedding photos.
The Finishing Touch
A great design needs protection. After application, I use a lemon-sugar sealant spray. This keeps the design intact while it dries, allowing the stain to deepen without cracking. I will also walk you through the aftercare, like avoiding water for the first few hours and using the right oil to help the color bloom. Whether you are in Delhi or traveling for a destination wedding, my goal is to make sure your mehandi looks as good on your wedding day as it does in the gallery.
