Guide to Ordering Your Travel Meals and Shipping
A quick guide to getting your home-cooked meals, vacuum-packed snacks, and courier parcels ready for your international trip.
This video is a complete summary of how I can help students and travelers. I explain my four main services: ready-to-eat packets, freeze-drying for home food, vacuum packing for Indian breads, and our international courier for all your essentials.
If you are planning an international trip, please remember to order your food packets in advance. Our meals have a nine-month shelf life, so you can order 10-15 days prior to your trip to ensure everything is ready and delivered on time.
A reminder for all travelers: please pre-order your food. Since courier delivery takes about three days and we get many orders, placing your order at least 10 days early helps me fulfill it without any last-minute rush.
To make it simple, this is a list of the main services I offer. You can get your homemade food freeze-dried, choose from over 22 ready-to-eat packets (including 17+ Jain options), use our international courier, or get items vacuum-packed.
About Our Process & Ordering Guide
Before you finalize your packing, please give me at least 10 days to prepare your order. Whether you need your own home-cooked meals freeze-dried or want a selection of my ready-to-eat packets, this window ensures everything is packed, sealed, and ready to survive the journey without any last-minute stress.
How My Process Works
I handle the shipping and packing from my shop in Byculla, Mumbai. Here is the straightforward reality of how to get your essentials abroad:
1. Freeze-Drying Your Own Food If you want to carry your specific home-cooked meals, bring them to my shop. I need a minimum of 2 kg of food. I will freeze-dry it, which gives it a shelf life of nine months without needing a fridge. This is perfect for students or travelers who want a taste of home that stays fresh.
2. Ready-to-Eat Packets I have over 30 dishes available, including 17+ Jain and vegan options. These are zero-preservative meals that you just add hot water to. Since I need time to prepare and pack these, please place your order 10 days in advance.
3. International Courier & Packing I do not just throw things in a box. I use 7-ply heavy-duty corrugated boxes and bubble wrap for metal utensils and cookers. For clothes and personal items, I use expert stuffing techniques inside vessels to save you volumetric weight. I work with carriers like DHL and FedEx, usually reaching major hubs like the USA, Canada, and the UK in about 3 days.
4. Vacuum Packing For items like theplas, rotis, and parathas, I offer vacuum sealing. This keeps them fresh for 10 days during your travel and up to 30 days if you keep them in the fridge once you arrive.
Important Things to Remember
- Customs: Any local duty in the destination country is paid by the receiver, not me. These are local rules I cannot control.
- Frozen Items: If I ship frozen goods (like Aamras), they may arrive slightly melted. Tell your receiver to put them straight into the freezer upon delivery.
- Pre-Order: I cannot fulfill last-minute requests because I have to prioritize quality and proper packing. Plan for your trip and book at least 10 days early.
