The Firing Process: Bringing Clay to Life

Firing is a two-step journey that turns fragile clay into durable ceramic. First, I bisque fire the pieces to make them hard and porous for glazing. Then, after you've applied your glaze, I do a final, hotter glaze firing to melt the glaze and bring out its true color and shine.

Our Studio Kiln: The Heart of Our Craft

I've named my new electric kiln 'Ember', and it's a state-of-the-art Bartlett Genesis 2.0 model. It provides precise temperature control, which is crucial for the high-temperature stoneware firings I specialize in, ensuring every piece comes out strong and beautifully finished.

Firing Services for Potters

I primarily fire work created in my studio workshops, but I do offer kiln firing services for independent potters when I have space in my schedule. I offer stoneware firing, so please reach out to me directly to discuss your project and check my kiln's availability.
