Original Music Production: Blending Afrobeat & Carnatic Vibes
I blend the soul of Carnatic music with the energy of Amapiano. Here is a look inside my studio process and the tracks that define my SA 2 SA movement.
Finding inspiration everywhere. Here I am working on 'Tala Umdanso' while watching the sunset in LA. This track combines South Asian percussion with South African Amapiano grooves, and the beach was the perfect place to fine-tune this spiritual journey.
A little snippet of an original track I started back in 2022. This one has some funky guitar vibes. It's all about experimenting in the studio and seeing what new sounds come out.
Just a vibe from one of my studio sessions. I was working on a private school Amapiano track with some smooth guitar and a hard-hitting sax melody. This is the kind of chill, summer-at-the-beach mood I love to create.
It was a blessing to produce the track 'Alright' for Brandz. Being part of another artist's project is always a great experience and a chance to bring my production style to a different sound.
About SA 2 SA: Original Productions
When I work on a track, it is not just about layering sounds. It is about taking a classic Carnatic melody or a Bollywood sample and finding that exact pocket where a log drum sits right. I often use live percussion or guitar overdubs to give the beat that organic texture you cannot get from a plugin alone.
The Production Process
Creating a sound that travels from South Asia to South Africa is a spiritual process. My studio in London is where these two worlds collide. Whether I am producing a full EP or crafting a single remix, the goal is always the same: keep the groove king.
I start by looking at the rhythm. If I am working with a Bollywood classic, I use stem separation to isolate the vocals and then build the arrangement around a new Amapiano or Afrobeats structure. It is all about harmonic mixing and tempo correction. You might hear a tabla rhythm riding over a syncopated log drum pattern. It is wild and unconventional, but it works.
Custom Remixes and Original Tracks
I offer a few different paths for collaboration. If you have an existing track that needs a genre overhaul, I handle everything from the initial vocal isolation to the final club-ready mixdown. For original compositions, we start from scratch. We build the melody, layer the synths and basslines, and ensure the structure hits hard. Whether you need a radio-ready hook or a deep underground dance track, we get it done.
Technical Standards
Every project I touch gets the same treatment. We look at frequency balancing so the track hits on club speakers and phones alike. You get the Mastered WAV files, individual stems, and enough room for feedback to ensure the vision we started with is exactly what you hear in the final bounce.
