Kyokushin Karate Training Highlights
A look into how we train, compete, and grow as a community at Mas Oyama Karate Academy. From rigorous conditioning to our annual mountain camps, this is the path of Kyokushin.
This is what true Kyokushin spirit looks like. Here, my students are undergoing a belt test during our summer camp, showing their focus and power while performing kihon (basics). Notice the mix of belts; everyone trains hard together.
Kumite, or full-contact sparring, is where we test our skills. This video shows a fight for the 1st kyu (brown belt), a crucial step before black belt. It requires courage, control, and thinking before you move.
There is no greater pride for me than seeing my students succeed. Here I am with my team after they won multiple trophies at the All India Full Contact Karate Tournament. Their hard work and mehnat paid off.
Strength and stamina are not given, they are earned. This is a glimpse of our intense conditioning drills at the summer camp. We push our limits together, building the physical and mental toughness Kyokushin is known for.
The moment a student earns their new belt is a proud one for all of us. Here, I am awarding a new orange belt and certificate to a young student who passed his grading. This is a reward for his consistent practice and discipline.
We take our training to new heights, literally. This was during our 31st Summer Camp, where we practiced our techniques while trekking in the mountains. It builds endurance and a deep connection with nature.
Our dojo is a community. We celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan for the first time at the academy, and the enthusiasm of the children was incredible. It’s about building respect and bonds, not just fighting skills.
As a Sensei, I lead by example. This was taken during our summer camp, a moment of focus before training begins. My goal is to guide every student on their martial arts journey with discipline and care.
About Featured
Practice here isn't just about showing up. It is about consistency. If you come for one hour and disappear for two days, you won't see the progress. We drill the basics until they become muscle memory, and then we add intensity. If you are looking for a place where you will sweat and learn respect, you belong here.
Kyokushin isn't just a sport. It is a way to build character and focus. In our Badarpur dojo, students learn the value of 'Osu', which is a sign of respect and persistence. Whether you are a beginner or looking to advance, our training focuses on three pillars: kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (full-contact sparring). We keep classes structured to ensure personal correction on your stance, strike, or breath control.
Beyond the walls of the academy, we take our training to the hills. Our annual summer camps to places like Nainital aren't holidays. They are intense training sessions where we practice techniques while trekking or start the day with conditioning in the fresh air. This is where we build the stamina that counts. We are also a community. We celebrate festivals like Rakshabandhan and host academy anniversaries because karate is about bonds, not just fighting. If you are serious about learning, show up, put in the mehnat, and watch your progress through our belt grading system.
