Behind the Scenes of My Mehndi Artistry
I believe creating mehndi is as much about the process as it is about the final result. From carefully applying organic henna to watching the rich stain develop, here is a glimpse into how I turn simple designs into art.
A glimpse of a lively mehndi ceremony. I love being a part of these happy celebrations and creating beautiful art for the bride and her family.
This video shows my journey and how much my art has evolved with practice. I'm always learning and striving to perfect my craft.
A compilation from a recent exhibition, where I got to create lots of fun tattoo-style and minimal designs for lovely clients.
This image shows the "cutwork" technique in progress. I apply the design and then carefully remove parts of the paste to create the negative space effect.
The best moment is seeing the fresh, vibrant orange stain right after the paste comes off. This shows the henna is working its magic, and it will darken over the next 48 hours.
About Behind the Scenes & My Process
You often ask about the secret to that deep, dark stain. It comes down to using 100% organic, natural henna cones and following the right aftercare. Whether I am using the cutwork technique to create striking negative space or detailing a complex bridal pattern, my goal is always the same: ensuring the design looks beautiful the moment I finish and stays vibrant for days after.
My Artistic Process
When you book a session with me, you are not just getting henna on your hands. You are getting a personalized experience. My process starts with understanding your specific vibe, whether that is a traditional bridal look or a modern, minimalist design for an event.
The Materials Matter
I am very particular about what touches your skin. I exclusively use organic henna cones. These are safe, natural, and formulated to give that rich, maroon stain everyone loves. After I finish the design, I guide you through the old-school aftercare rituals—like the sugar-lemon sealant—to lock in the color so it darkens beautifully over the next 48 hours.
Technical Styles
I love experimenting with different textures and shapes:
- Cutwork: This is one of my favorite techniques. I apply the paste and then carefully remove parts of it to create negative space, which makes the intricate designs stand out against your skin.
- Mandala & Geometric: I focus heavily on symmetry, using grids and circles to create balanced, spiritually significant patterns.
- Minimalist Tattoo Style: For parties or smaller events, I enjoy creating fine-line art that mimics the look of a permanent tattoo but with the freedom of henna.
Whether I am working on a grand wedding project or a quick festival motif, I always document the process. It helps me see how my lines have evolved and allows you to understand the effort that goes into every curve and dot.
