This style is often called 'Bharwa' or filled mehendi because it covers the skin with dense, intricate patterns leaving very little empty space. It is a slow, meditative process that requires a steady hand and an eye for symmetry.

The process

Because these designs are so detailed, I use a freshly mixed organic henna paste that ensures a dark maroon stain. It matures beautifully over 48 hours.
