Festive Mehendi and Custom Portrait Art
From detailed festival stories to signature portraits, I create henna designs that celebrate your traditions. See how I can make your next occasion extra special.
This Karwa Chauth design tells a complete story. I've created a detailed portrait of a couple celebrating together, alongside a woman performing the ritual, all framed by delicate floral patterns and the auspicious blessing "सदा सौभाग्यवती भव:" written on the wrist.
Capturing the joyful spirit of Teej, this design features a woman on a swing on one palm and a pair of birds on the other. The intricate background patterns and shaded details bring the entire festive scene to life.
For Navratri, I created this portrait of the Garba Queen, Falguni Pathak. This shows my ability to create realistic portraits, making it a unique and memorable mehendi for a special night of dance and music.
This is a classic example of my traditional work, combining two powerful motifs. One hand features a majestic elephant within a circular frame, while the other showcases a graceful peacock, both surrounded by bold lotus and leaf patterns.
For the Gangaur festival, I created this beautiful depiction of Isar and Gauri. Each figure is drawn with fine lines and careful shading to highlight their traditional attire and serene expressions, making the design a true celebration of the occasion.
This design was created for the Jain observance of Varshitap Anumodana. The palms feature the sacred words "वर्षी तप" and "अनुमोदना" in Devanagari script, set within a clean, geometric pattern that is both beautiful and respectful.
The final stain is just as important as the design itself. This image shows the deep, reddish-brown color my natural henna achieves after setting, a result I always aim for to make your mehendi look its absolute best.
I love creating unique motifs, like this Pichwai-inspired art featuring a cow and calf. The central portrait is framed by lotus flowers and delicate dot work, with fully shaded fingertips to complete this elegant design.
About Featured
If you are interested in my portrait or figure work, please block out about 1.5 to 2.5 hours per side for the sitting. Because I focus on fine, intricate lining and facial features, I prefer to work without rushing so we get the depth and clarity that makes these designs look real.
My approach to mehendi goes beyond just applying henna. It is about capturing a moment, a memory, or a tradition. Whether it is a traditional festival like Karwa Chauth, Teej, or Gangaur, or a special milestone, I want your hands to reflect the joy of the occasion.
My Approach to Design
I specialize in different styles, ranging from simple, elegant Arabic patterns to dense, traditional Bharwa Mehendi. My passion lies in figure and portrait work. I have undergone rigorous training in anatomy and sketching to ensure that when I draw a portrait, whether it is a couple, a deity, or even a pet, the expressions come through clearly. I use high-quality, triple-sifted organic henna mixed with essential oils like lavender or cajeput. This not only makes the application smoother but also helps achieve that dark, rich stain I am known for.
Preparing for Your Session
- Arabic & Mandala: These are great for parties or lighter festivals and take about 15-25 minutes per side. They rely on negative space and bold lines.
- Traditional Bharwa: These feature intricate grids (jaali), peacocks, and floral bands. These require about 45-60 minutes per side to get the symmetry right.
- Signature Portraits: This is where we create custom storytelling scenes. Because these involve fine sketching, I need a bit more time to ensure the composition on both hands flows together perfectly.
I travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area and can also travel to other locations in India for destination weddings. My goal is always the same: to make sure you leave with a design you love and a stain that lasts.
