About this collection

For your engagement or Roka, we usually aim for mid-forearm coverage with a mix of floral or Khafif (spaced out) styles. It takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, so you don't have to sit for hours like you would for bridal henna. If you have a specific pattern in mind—like your partner's initials or a 'Roka' text detail—just mention it when we chat so I can plan the design flow beforehand.

Choosing mehndi for your engagement or pre-wedding functions is different from the main bridal day. You want something that looks intricate enough for the photos but leaves you free to enjoy the event without worrying about henna smudging or hours of restricted movement.

My pre-wedding approach focuses on elegance rather than heavy, elbow-length filling. I prefer using floral, Indo-Western, or Khafif styles—these patterns are light, airy, and look great against modern outfits like lehengas, gowns, or anarkalis.

Making it Yours This is your special celebration. I love adding personalized elements that mean something to you as a couple. Whether it’s your wedding date, your partner’s initials, or a small 'Roka' or 'Mom To Be' note worked into the design, these tiny details make the henna feel like it truly belongs to your story.

What to expect on the day

  • Duration: Unlike bridal henna which takes 4-5 hours, these designs usually take around 2 to 2.5 hours. It’s a relaxed session, perfect for pre-wedding fun.
  • Placement: We focus on the palms and back of the hands up to the mid-forearm. For the feet, we can keep it minimal with a central mandala or a simple border, so you stay comfortable.
  • Natural Color: I use only natural, chemical-free henna. It starts orange and deepens into a rich maroon over 24-48 hours. I always apply a lemon-sugar sealant spray to ensure the paste stays on long enough for the best stain.

If you’re unsure what style fits your outfit or the event vibe, show me a picture of your clothes when you reach out. I can suggest patterns that complement your jewelry and dress style.
