Spiritual & Devotional Art Classes in East Delhi
Painting spiritual figures is a personal journey. Whether you want to learn the brushwork to paint Guru Nanak, Krishna, or Buddha, I’m here to help you capture that peaceful divinity on canvas.
This is a close-up of a student's acrylic painting of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. We work meticulously on facial features and expressions to bring a sense of peace and divinity to the portrait.
Here you can see the process of a student working on a Guru Nanak portrait. My classes provide hands-on guidance, helping with everything from the initial sketch to the final brushstrokes.
This video shows the process of creating the Yashoda and Krishna oil painting. You can see the careful layering of colors and fine brushwork used to define the intricate details of the jewelry and expressions.
This "Baba Nanka" painting, featuring abstract color drips and Gurbani calligraphy, was a custom order. It's an example of how we can blend traditional spiritual themes with modern artistic styles.
A student works on a powerful Ganesha painting in acrylics. We focus on creating strong contrast with light and shadow to give the deity a dynamic and commanding presence.
A student proudly holds her finished abstract Krishna painting on a round canvas. This piece beautifully blends vibrant colors and textures to create a modern interpretation of a classic spiritual subject.
This young artist created a beautiful Ganesha painting using poster colors. It shows how we introduce spiritual themes to students of all ages, adapting the complexity to their skill level.
About this collection
Spiritual art isn't just about the outline; it’s about the layering. In my sessions, we focus on the 'how'—like mixing the right skin tones for a Krishna portrait or getting the expression of Guru Nanak just right. I work with you step-by-step so you aren't just copying a picture, but actually learning how to evoke that sense of calm and divinity on your canvas.
When we paint spiritual subjects, we don’t rush. It starts with the basics: sketching the proportions and understanding the light source. For an acrylic portrait of Guru Nanak, for example, we spend time building up the beard and turban textures to make them look soft and realistic.
My studio in East Delhi offers a quiet space for this kind of work. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced artist looking to refine your technique, I adapt the curriculum to you. For kids, we might start with poster colors to learn control, while adults often dive into oils or acrylics on canvas.
What we cover in these sessions:
- Portrait Fundamentals: Understanding facial expressions and shading.
- Medium Mastery: Learning how to use acrylics, oils, or watercolors specifically for spiritual art.
- Color Blending: Techniques for creating ethereal glows or 3D textures, like the cherry blossoms on a Buddha painting.
- Guided Practice: I provide high-resolution reference images and constant, real-time feedback so you never feel stuck.
My goal isn't for you to make a perfect copy of my work. It’s for you to finish a piece that feels meaningful to you, just like my students who have created their own versions of Ganesha or Krishna. If you've been wanting to try your hand at this, let's start.
