A first birthday is a huge milestone, and I love creating vibrant, celebratory scenes like this one. This setup features a 'Happy Birthday' banner, floral arrangements, and custom 'ONE' blocks, all themed in pink for this little girl's special day.
The best moments are often the candid ones. Here, the birthday boy is sharing a joyful, spontaneous clap while sitting in a miniature armchair, surrounded by festive golden balloons. This shot perfectly captures the happy spirit of a one year old.
For this first birthday photoshoot, we used a vintage-style theme. The baby boy is sitting in a miniature wooden bed, curiously playing with an old-fashioned telephone prop, creating a charming and unique portrait.

About First Birthday Celebrations
Our studio on Railway Station Road is designed for comfort, not just poses. We keep a range of curated props like vintage phones and soft rugs on hand, but we move entirely at your baby's pace. If they need a break for a snack or a nap, we pause. The goal is happy photos, not rushed ones.
Making the First Year Count
A first birthday session is distinct from newborn or milestone shoots. At one year old, babies are active, curious, and full of expression. In our studio, we set up themed areas, from garden-style backdrops to classic vintage setups with props like our signature antique telephone, to match your baby's energy.
The Process
We prioritize safety and ease. Our studio space is climate-controlled and child-proofed, meaning you do not need to worry about the setup. We usually start with a formal portrait session to capture those initial smiles before moving into the more interactive, messy fun of a cake smash.
Practical Tips for Parents:
- Timing: Schedule the shoot when your baby is usually most alert, avoiding nap times.
- Wardrobe: We provide outfits, but you are welcome to bring one personal favorite set. Solid, neutral colors often look best against our themed backdrops.
- The Cake: For allergy safety, please bring the cake yourself. We handle the entire cleanup afterward so you can head home without the mess.
Whether you want a classic studio portrait or a full cake smash celebration, we keep the environment relaxed. If things get chaotic, we roll with it. The best photos usually come from the unplanned moments.
