About Family Celebrations
At big family gatherings, it is easy to miss the small, candid interactions because everyone is busy running around. I make it my priority to step back and watch for the quiet moments, like grandparents sharing a smile or a cousin laughing, that often get overlooked in the rush of the main event.
Capturing a family celebration is about balancing formal group portraits with the candid emotion of the day. Whether it is a 50th wedding anniversary at a banquet hall or a newborn welcome party at home, my goal is to ensure you do not have to worry about the camera.
My Approach to Family Events
- Managing the crowd: I know that organizing large groups for a stage shot can be chaotic. I take charge of the group positioning so you can focus on enjoying the event rather than directing traffic.
- Patience with kids: If it is a first birthday or a child's party, I follow their lead. If the little one is tired or cranky, we take a break. We never force a smile, as the best memories are the genuine ones.
- Lighting and ambiance: I bring portable softbox lighting, which ensures your photos look bright and professional even if the venue lighting is dim. This is crucial for getting clear shots of your decor and guest interactions.
For these events, I typically suggest a mix of traditional coverage for your memories and candid photography for the vibe.
