Hotel Sahana Grand Tirupati Architectural Design
Our design journey for Hotel Sahana Grand in Tirupati, where we balanced modern facade aesthetics with functional hospitality interiors.
A video tour of the completed Hotel Sahana Grand. It highlights key areas of our hospitality design, including the grand entrance signage, the double-height lobby with its custom feature light, and a sample guest room layout focused on comfort and utility.
A view of the hotel during construction, showcasing the bare concrete shell and scaffolding. This perspective reveals the project's scale and the complex structural work that forms the basis of the final architectural design.
About Hotel Sahana Grand, Tirupati
In the lobby design, we moved beyond mere aesthetics to prioritize the guest's first impression. We integrated custom sculptural lighting with practical navigation paths, ensuring the space feels open yet intimate for travellers while separating guest flow from staff service corridors.
Designing a hotel like Sahana Grand is as much about logistics as it is about art. When we approach hospitality spaces, we look at the building as a living machine. The project began with the structural shell, where we had to balance the massive scale of a commercial property with the need for a welcoming atmosphere.
The Facade and First Impressions
For the exterior, we focused on dynamic lighting and materiality. By specifying ACP and stone in a balanced rhythm, we created a facade that holds its own in the Tirupati landscape. The interplay of light and shadow here is intentional, meant to catch the eye of passersby without overwhelming the street view.
Guest Experience and Standardization
Inside, the focus shifted to guest room standardization. We mapped out layouts for various room categories, ensuring that electrical plans and furniture placement were consistent for operational efficiency.
Our Technical Approach
- Circulation: We designed floor plans to strictly separate guest circulation from housekeeping and staff corridors, maintaining privacy and noise control.
- Interior Detailing: From the reception desk to the custom headboards, every fixed furniture piece was drafted with precision. We layered lighting schemes, using COB and LED strips to create different moods for the lobby, dining, and private rooms.
- Materiality: We selected commercial-grade vitrified tiles and fire-retardant fabrics, ensuring that the design survives the high-traffic reality of a hotel environment.
We provide 2-4 site visits per month to ensure our design intent is maintained by civil and electrical teams during the construction phase.
