When I create editorial looks, the approach is fundamentally different from standard party makeup. I prioritize structural integrity—using cream contouring and precise base layering to ensure your features don't flatten under high-intensity studio lights. My editorial style is built on the techniques I mastered in London, where the emphasis is on 'clean' beauty that holds up under close scrutiny. Whether you are prepping for a portfolio shoot, a fashion event, or a red carpet appearance, the goal is to create a look that feels cinematic rather than just traditional.
Why Editorial Makeup is Different
Editorial and high-fashion makeup requires a deep understanding of photography. Studio lighting—whether it is a strobe or a softbox—tends to wash out features if the makeup is too soft. I use specific techniques to bring structure back to the face:
