Real Talk: Beauty Standards & Makeup Tips
We talk a lot about glam and contouring, but let's chat about reality. Here is a peek behind the curtain at what actually goes into your bridal look.
A friendly reminder for everyone. Makeup is a powerful tool for enhancement, but it is important to have realistic expectations. It enhances beauty, it does not create new features.
About Additional Work
Makeup is a powerful tool for enhancement, but it cannot change your bone structure or smooth out texture like a medical procedure. When you sit in my chair, we focus on celebrating your unique features rather than hiding them. I want you to look in the mirror and see yourself, just the most polished and radiant version of you.
In an age of filters and heavy social media editing, it is easy to forget what skin actually looks like. My job as an artist is not to make you look like a different person. It is to make you feel confident in your own skin.
Why Realistic Expectations Matter
You see those glowing, pore-less looks on Instagram? They often involve perfect lighting, high-end skincare, and sometimes a bit of retouching. In my Mumbai studio, we aim for a 'skin-like' finish. We use high-quality primers and professional techniques to smooth texture, but the goal is always a finish that looks beautiful in person, not just through a lens.
My Approach to Your Look
If you are prepping for your wedding, understanding this helps you choose the right artist. You want someone who works with your natural skin type, not someone who tries to paint over it. Whether you are dealing with acne, dry patches, or just textured skin, we find a look that makes you feel comfortable without wearing a mask.
My studio is a space for honesty. If you bring me an inspiration photo, I will be the first to tell you if the look is achievable on your skin or if we need to tweak it to flatter you. That is the 13-year experience talking—knowing when to push the trends and when to stick to what actually looks good on a real human being.
