About this collection
Achieving a vibrant look does not mean piling on layers. I use a foundation-free technique that lets your skin breathe, focusing instead on colour-correcting and enhancing your natural glow. For these colourful sarees, I pull specific tones from your outfit into the eyeshadow and lip colour to create a cohesive, radiant harmony that feels intentional, not overdone.
When working with a vibrant or pastel Kanjeevaram, the challenge is ensuring your makeup complements the outfit rather than competing with it. My approach is to find the balance where your jewellery, the saree colours, and the makeup work as one.
Why Colour Coordination Matters
For a pastel saree, I often use soft pinks, lilacs, or peaches to maintain that fresh, airy aesthetic. If you are wearing a bright, bold colour, I shift to richer tones that stand up to the intensity of the silk. The goal is to avoid a generic 'bridal' mask. I want your makeup to look like a natural extension of your chosen theme.
My Technical Process
- Base Work: I avoid heavy, caked-on foundation. Instead, I prep the skin with high-end serums and colour correctors. This keeps your skin looking like skin, even under harsh stage lights or broad daylight.
- Feature Highlighting: With vibrant sarees, I often focus on one feature. If the saree is very bright, I might keep the eyes soft and go for a defined lip. If the saree is a muted pastel, I can play with a bit more shimmer on the eyes to add dimension.
- Hairstyle Integration: The colour of the flowers and the style of the braid are just as important as the makeup. I coordinate the jasmine or rose colours to tie back into the saree palette, creating a complete visual story.
