About South Indian Inspired Bridal Styles
Getting that Kanjeevaram drape perfect is about more than just pins. I pay close attention to how your temple jewelry sits against the neckline, ensuring your necklace and blouse embroidery do not compete. Whether we choose a traditional temple braid or a jasmine-adorned bun, I make sure everything is secured so you can move, dance, and enjoy your wedding rituals without worry.
My Approach to South Indian Bridal Looks
When I work with a bride on her South Indian look, my goal is to balance tradition with comfort. Many of the brides I work with in Navi Mumbai and across the region want that classic, grand feel, but they also have a full day of events ahead of them.
Makeup That Lasts I use HD makeup specifically designed for high-flash photography. This ensures that even when you are under bright venue lights or in the middle of a temple ceremony, your skin looks radiant without appearing cakey. I focus on defining your features so they don't get lost against heavy gold temple jewelry.
The Styling Process
- Hairstyling: Whether you prefer the traditional long braid (Jada) or a soft, floral-heavy bun, I use hair padding to add volume. I am always careful about pinning fresh flowers, like jasmine or gajra, so they stay fresh throughout your function.
- Draping: A Kanjeevaram saree has a specific weight and drape. I use safety pins and professional techniques to create iron-crisp pleats that stay in place, even if you are moving between different stages of the ceremony.
- Jewelry Setting: This is often the most critical part. I help you set your Nath, Maang tikka, and multiple necklaces so that they frame your face properly and feel comfortable against your skin.
Travel and Consultations I am based in Nerul, but I travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area and beyond for weddings. If you have a specific vision for your bridal look, let's talk about it. I listen to what you want and offer advice based on your face shape, outfit colors, and the venue setting, so you look and feel like the best version of yourself.
Sneha Gawade
I’m Sneha from Nerul. When I work on a South Indian bridal look, my favorite part is pinning the final flower gajra because that is when the whole transformation truly comes together. I love getting to know my brides during those quiet moments before the ceremony starts.
