About Engagement & Reception Glam
When we plan your reception makeup, we have to consider the stage lights first. Most venues in Bengaluru use bright, direct lighting that can wash out natural makeup. I balance this by using high-definition (HD) foundation that holds its texture under the glare and precise eye makeup techniques that stand out without looking overdone. We will discuss your outfit and venue backdrop beforehand to ensure your look stays crisp and vibrant, from the first greeting to the final photo of the night.
How we approach your look
Your engagement and reception are distinct events, and your makeup should reflect that. For engagements, which are often more intimate, I prefer a fresh, glowing look. For receptions, where you are on a stage under heavy spotlights, we lean towards stronger contouring and defined eye work.
Coordinating your style
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. If you are wearing a heavy Kanchipuram silk for your engagement, we keep the makeup classic and elegant. If you have picked a modern lehenga for the reception with diamond or polki sets, we can go bolder with smokey eyes or glitter. I always ask my brides to share photos of their outfits and the venue backdrop beforehand. This helps me decide the color palette for your eyeshadow and lip shade so everything flows together perfectly.
The technical details

- Lash and Liner: I use premium lashes and precise liner work to ensure your eyes remain the focal point, even from a distance on a crowded stage.
- Stay-power: You will be meeting hundreds of guests, hugging, and perhaps dancing. I use setting sprays and techniques that lock your base in, so you are not rushing to touch up every hour.
My priority is that you feel comfortable. If you are not used to bold lips, we will not do them. We will tweak the plan until you look in the mirror and see yourself, just a more polished version.
