About Behind the Scenes & Pro Tips

Whether it is securing a delicate Bengali mukut or fixing broken jewelry right before the ceremony, my job involves being ready for anything. I believe that being a makeup artist on your wedding day means more than just applying foundation; it means being the person who ensures you stay stress-free while everything comes together perfectly.

Handling the Chaos

Wedding days can be unpredictable, and I have seen it all, from spilled sindoor to wardrobe malfunctions. Being an experienced artist is not just about knowing how to contour or highlight; it is about having the presence of mind to handle emergencies without panic. When you choose me for your big day, you get someone who arrives with the right tools to keep you looking flawless from the first photo to the last dance.

My Pro Tips for a Stress-Free Day

Over the years, I have gathered a few golden rules that I share with every bride:

  • The Facial Timeline: Schedule your facials at least three days before your Haldi ceremony. I always recommend going to a dermatologist rather than hunting for cheap offers at random salons to avoid unnecessary skin reactions.
  • Hair Care First: Avoid heavy chemical treatments like smoothening, rebonding, or intense conditioning within a month of your wedding. These treatments can make it very difficult for us to achieve the volume and hold needed for bridal hairstyles.
  • The Shampoo Rule: On your wedding day, wash your hair but skip the conditioner. Clean, slightly textured hair holds pins and curls much better than soft, slippery hair that has been conditioned.
  • Real Talk on Skin: Never hide your natural beauty under layers of product. If you have concerns like pigmentation, we fix them with technique and color correction, not by slathering on heavy base that will cake up under wedding lights.
