Creative and Themed Makeup Looks by Naina

For creative shoots, lighting and concept dictate the makeup application. I use base techniques that hold up under both natural and studio light without appearing cakey. When we do a themed look, we do not simply copy an image, but customize the placement of colors to suit your features, ensuring the look tells the story you want to capture in your photos.

Creative makeup is more than applying foundation and eyeshadow. It is about character building. For the Radha-Krishna theme shown here, we focused on soft, ethereal skin and expressive eye detailing. The challenge with themed shoots is that the look needs to read well on camera. I use different blending techniques for photoshoots compared to weddings because the lighting, whether it is the harsh sun or studio strobes, reacts differently to pigments.

My process begins with a conversation about the character. If it is a mythological look, we discuss the color palette to ensure it feels authentic rather than like a costume. I do not rely on expensive products to do the work, I rely on color theory. For this look, I used specific blush placement and eye detailing to bring out a divine appearance, making sure it stays in place even with outdoor changes.
