Mature skin requires a different approach than younger skin. If you have ever felt like foundation settles into fine lines or feels heavy by the end of an event, it is almost always a hydration issue. I focus on intensive, emollient-rich prep and luminous liquids that move with your skin rather than sitting on top of it, ensuring a comfortable finish that lasts through the day.
My Philosophy for Mature Skin
I never believe in masking your face. When I work with mothers of the bride or groom, my priority is keeping the skin hydrated and the finish radiant. Heavy, matte powders can often make mature skin look dull or accentuate texture, so I steer clear of those.
The Process:
- Prep: I start with intensive, emollient-rich moisturizers and smoothing primers to create a plump canvas.
- Base: I use luminous, sheer-to-medium coverage liquids. This allows your natural skin to show through while still providing a polished, even look.
- Correction: I use targeted peach or orange correctors to address pigmentation or age spots without needing thick layers of concealer.
- Eyes: We stick to matte, neutral tones that define your eyes without settling into creases.
Hair and Comfort
Being comfortable is just as important as the makeup itself. For hairstyles, I often incorporate hair padding to give volume to thinning hair and use gentle, classic styles like soft blow-dries or low buns. Whether you need a traditional saree drape that stays put or a look that handles event lighting perfectly, my goal is for you to feel like yourself—just a little more polished.
