My favourite trick is turning a regular six-yard saree into a lehenga drape, which gives you incredible volume and drama without needing a second outfit for your Sangeet or Haldi. It is a detail that completely transforms your silhouette while keeping the fabric comfortable enough to move in, which I know is a priority when you want to dance all night.
Bridal style today isn't about choosing between tradition and trend—it is about finding the balance. My approach to fusion makeup is simple: keep the base flawless and dewy, and let your outfit and jewelry provide the character.
The Fusion Philosophy
When I work on a fusion look, I focus on 'wearable tradition'. This means incorporating elements like the Maharashtrian 'Chandrakor' or 'Nath' but pairing them with modern eye makeup, such as soft smokey eyes or defined, clean lines, rather than the heavy, traditional dark shadows.
Why HD & Airbrush Matter
For fusion events, you are often moving between different lighting setups—from bright daylight during a ceremony to harsh stage lights during the Sangeet. I use high-end HD foundation and airbrush techniques that are formulated to handle both. This ensures your base doesn't look cakey up close but stays perfectly in place when you are under the flash of a camera or the sweat of a dance floor.
Technical Draping
I don't just do makeup; I manage the whole look. Whether it's pleating a Paithani to ensure the motif sits correctly, or using safety-pinning techniques to secure a dupatta so you can move freely, the structure is as important as the glam.
