Makeup and Nail Styling by Mamatha in Bangalore
Seeing how nails and makeup come together makes all the difference for a big event. Here is a look at how I style my clients and a few personal looks I have created.
This is my lovely client Mithuna, ready for her sister's housewarming ceremony. Her simple and elegant nails were the perfect finishing touch for her traditional look.
Another photo of Mithuna admiring her nails. I focus on creating looks that match the occasion and the client's personal style, whether it's for a big wedding or a family function.
My client Vasuda during her Varapooja. Her dark, polished nails complemented her beautiful pink and orange saree and traditional jewelry.
A full look at Vasuda's Varapooja makeup and styling. You can see how her nails, though simple, are an important part of her overall appearance for the ceremony.
This is my client Kalyani, all dressed up for a family function. Her bright red nails add a pop of color that works beautifully with her lime green and purple saree.
This is a festival look I created for myself for Onam. I paired my traditional white and green saree with bright pink nails for a modern twist.
Another shot of my Onam look. As a nail artist, I love experimenting with my own nails to match different outfits and occasions.
About My Clients & Personal Style
Often, people focus so much on the face that they forget their hands are in every photo. I always suggest picking nail colors that pull a subtle shade from your saree border or gold jewellery, rather than just matching the main fabric. It makes the whole look feel thought-out rather than just thrown together.
When I am styling a client for a function, like a housewarming or a Varapooja, I look at the entire color palette of their outfit. For example, when working with traditional silk sarees, I try to match the nail art and makeup to the specific zari or the border color rather than just the base cloth. This small detail helps everything look cohesive in close-up shots.
I have seen too many people spend hours on their hair and makeup only to have their nails clash with their accessories. Whether it is a simple, elegant solid color for a family gathering or something more detailed like the Ganesha designs I love to paint, the goal is to make sure your hands complement the jewelry you are wearing.
I also enjoy experimenting with my own looks to test out new techniques before offering them to clients. If you look at the festival photos, you will see how I pair vibrant nail colors with traditional white and gold sarees to create a modern twist. My studio in Mahalakshmi Layout is where I combine these styles, whether you need a quick gel polish change or intricate 3D bridal nail art to match your engagement outfit.
