The Chronicles of Tyson: My Story as a Magician

Magic is more than just tricks to me, it is my testimony. From struggling in school to finding my calling during the pandemic, this is the story behind my performances.

People always ask how I learned magic. It started at 15 in a cyber cafe, fueled by pocket money from a paper route. This is a story about humble beginnings and not letting your circumstances define your future.

I almost backed out of my first stage show because of crippling stage fright. This is the story of how I faced that fear head-on and conquered it, a reminder that you can overcome what scares you.

COVID-19 closed the door on my dream of a career in aviation, but it opened another to my true calling. This is how the pandemic led me to embrace magic as my full-time profession.

The torn and restored thread trick is the most personal piece I perform. It represents my life, broken by failure and rejection, and beautifully restored by the grace of Jesus.

This is the origin story of my 'Magic for Happiness' project. It all began with a single child's request and grew into a non-profit foundation and a mission to spread joy.

From a hobby to a lifelong passion that helps others. This is a reflection on my journey and how it led to creating shows like 'Beyond Impossible' to support the Little Smiles Foundation.

A reminder of the verse that keeps me going through every challenge. My faith is the foundation of my strength and my magic, reminding me that I am more than a conqueror.

About this collection

People often ask how I learned magic. I did not have formal mentors or fancy equipment. I was just a 15-year-old kid in a local cyber cafe, saving my paper route earnings to buy my first props and learning from YouTube. This journey—from feeling like I was fit for nothing to performing mentalism and illusions across India—is exactly what I bring to the stage during my shows.

From Adversity to Illusion

My path to becoming a professional magician was never a straight line. Before I stood on stage with confidence, I dealt with crippling stage fright and a career dream in aviation that was cut short by the pandemic. When that door closed, I turned my focus entirely to magic. It was not just a pivot; it was a realization that I could use my skills to connect with people and tell stories that mattered.

The 'Torn Thread' Philosophy

I often perform a torn and restored thread trick during my sets. It is my favorite because it represents my life. Eight to ten years ago, I felt broken—failed in studies, rejected by peers, and without a sense of purpose. That thread is a visual metaphor for my faith and how I rebuilt myself. When you see me perform, you are not just watching a sleight of hand; you are seeing the result of someone who found a reason to smile again.

Magic with a Mission

This is why I started 'Magic for Happiness'. After a child told me he had never seen a magic show because it was 'only for the rich,' I decided to change that. I have performed over 300 free shows in government schools and orphanages. Whether I am doing a corporate mentalism set or a large-scale stage illusion, the goal remains the same: to create a moment of genuine wonder. If you are looking for an entertainer who brings more than just a box of tricks to your event, let’s talk.

I am Pradeep Tyson. What started as a way to cope with my own struggles at 15 has turned into a life of performing mentalism and illusions for people like you. When I am not on stage, I am likely planning my next free show for kids in government schools. I believe magic should connect us, not just fool us.
