About Grand Pooja Rooms
When designing a dedicated pooja room, we prioritize acoustic privacy and lighting control to separate the space from the rest of your home. We use integrated zone-wise lighting, allowing you to switch between a bright, functional setting for daily rituals and a soft, ambient glow for meditation or evening prayers.
A dedicated pooja room is more than just a place to keep idols; it is an architectural commitment to tranquility. In our full-room projects, which typically span up to 50 sq.ft., we move beyond simple cabinetry to create an immersive environment.
Materiality and Finish
We frequently utilize translucent Corian for the main altar, which allows for backlighting to permeate the stone, creating a soft radiance. Walls are often treated with wood louvers, veneer, or wallpaper to improve sound absorption, ensuring the room remains quiet even when the rest of the house is active. We also incorporate glass entry doors, either sliding or hinged, to provide a visual separation that maintains a connection to your living space without compromising the sanctity of the room.
Functional Design
Storage is essential for a clean look. We design concealed cabinets specifically to house heavy pooja essentials, from large brass lamps to scripture books, keeping surfaces uncluttered. The flooring is often updated with wooden laminate or specialized overlay tiles to distinguish the area's energy from the adjoining hallway or living room.
Lighting Strategy
Good pooja room design relies on layering. We combine cove lighting in the false ceiling to provide general illumination with directional COB spotlights that highlight the idols. This contrast defines the focal point of the room. Whether you are in Delhi or Gurugram, we adapt these techniques to fit the specific architectural layout of your home, ensuring your spiritual space feels like an intentional, peaceful addition.
