A look at my approach to lighting—from moody restaurant interiors to architectural facades—where light and shadow create atmosphere.

For the Karnataka Golf Association's bar, I designed a lighting scheme to create a sophisticated and moody atmosphere. This central view highlights the custom ring light fixture over the bar, which acts as a modern centerpiece, while carefully placed downlights make the green leather chairs and checkered floor pop.

At the Mirage resort in Goa, I wanted the outdoor cabanas to feel like gentle, floating beacons of light. The canopy lighting provides a warm, relaxing glow, creating an intimate and serene atmosphere for guests to unwind by the water.

This is the 360-degree bar at the Bangalore Golf Club, a project with deep personal meaning for me. My design uses layered, low-level illumination and a dramatic central pendant cluster to foster a relaxed, glare-free ambiance where pools of light and shadow define the space.

Facade lighting is about telling a story before a guest even steps inside. For the Museum Inn, I worked with the architects to accentuate the building's timeless classical features, using light to highlight the arched windows and grand entrance, giving it a striking presence at night.

My design process begins with mapping out the light. This concept sketch for the Bangalore Golf Club bar shows how I plan to highlight the room's volume, use indirect light for ambiance, and create a 'play of brilliance' that encourages views and establishes a moody feel.

I am truly honored to have been named one of the world's top 40 under 40 lighting designers. This international recognition from the Light Collective and Filix Lighting reflects my passion for pushing the boundaries of architectural lighting.

Sharing my knowledge is a core part of my work. Here I am as a featured speaker at the SmartHome Expo, where I presented on how light can be used to modulate and transform a space, a key principle in all my hospitality projects.

About Featured

When I design a space, I think about layers. I do not just place lights; I plan where the shadows fall and how the light hits surfaces like wood or stone. This is how we move from a flat, bright room to one with real character and depth.
