Large-Scale & Custom Lighting Rigs
We build the structural foundation for your creative vision. From complex truss systems to high-rise balcony rigs, we design solutions that handle any scale.
A large-scale studio setup combining Creamsource Vortex 8 and SpaceX fixtures with various diffusers like softboxes and octaboxes. This mixed-source approach allowed us to create a soft, layered ambient light for a TV commercial.
A behind-the-scenes look at a train carriage set built in-studio. We used an array of Creamsource SpaceX lights to provide the primary illumination, creating a realistic and controllable environment for the shoot.
A daytime exterior rig featuring a combination of Creamsource Vortex 8 and Nanlux Evoke 1200B fixtures mounted on an extensive truss system. This setup provided powerful, color-accurate light for an Amazon Prime TVC.
For a high-speed shoot requiring 300 fps, we built a massive top-light rig using 36 Creamsource Vortex 8 units. This provided the immense light output needed while working through a heavy custom diffusion frame.
A minimalist lighting setup demonstrating precision over quantity. A single Litegear Auroris provides the toplight, while two Creamsource SpaceX units punch through diffusion frames to act as key and fill lights.
Four Litegear Litetile Plus 8 units rigged to create a soft ambient toplight for a TVC. The modular nature of these fixtures allows us to build large, seamless soft sources in spaces with low ceilings.
A custom lighting rig built from trussing and featuring multiple Lightstar Luxed 9 LED panels. This kind of pre-fabricated rig allows for quick and efficient setup on location.
Rigging for a shoot on the 13th floor of a high-rise during the Mumbai monsoon. We used a line of IP65-rated Creamsource Vortex 8 fixtures, which are fully weatherproof and reliable even when exposed to rain.

A top-down view of a complex lighting rig featuring an Arri SkyPanel 360 at the center, surrounded by smaller SkyPanels and Litegear Litetiles. This circular truss setup creates a beautiful, wrap-around soft light.
About Large-Scale & Custom Lighting Rigs
Rigging at this scale is about structural integrity and safety. We do not just hang fixtures; we map out load-bearing trussing, custom motorization, and clean 3-phase power distribution. Whether you are shooting 13 floors up in the Mumbai monsoon or need a massive overhead diffusion wall, our focus is on building a setup that remains stable and reliable throughout your schedule.
Every complex lighting plan starts with the physics of the location. We rely on industrial-grade Kupo Grip and heavy-duty trussing to ensure that even a massive 20x40 foot overhead diffusion frame is rock-solid. When we move to outdoor locations, such as high-rise balconies, we prioritize IP65-rated gear like the Creamsource Vortex 8 to handle weather unpredictability.
We also bring in-house power distribution boxes that manage 63A/3-phase current, eliminating the risk of voltage drops or unsafe cabling across your set. Our team collaborates directly with your gaffer and cinematographer to build these rigs, ensuring the structural plan aligns perfectly with your lighting plot.
It is not about having the most gear on the floor; it is about how that gear is connected and powered. If you need a custom crane, motorized hoists, or a specific rigging solution that isn't found in a catalog, we fabricate it. We have spent decades refining these workflows, moving from the scrappy days of film sets to the precision of modern high-speed LED production. When the rig is secure, you can focus entirely on the light quality.
Light And Grips
We are Mulchand and Hetal Dedhia, the team behind Light And Grips. We grew up on sets where you had to build your own solutions, and we brought that mindset to every rig we design today. We are here to ensure that when your cinematographer wants a complex light setup, the only thing they worry about is the image, not the structure.
