1-Day Lighting Tech Masterclass
Format
- Duration: 3 to 4 hours (typically afternoon session).
- Venue: Operational warehouse in Charkop Industrial Estate.
- Instructors: Led by Senior Gaffers or Founders (Mulchand/Hetal Dedhia).
Syllabus
- Comparisons of legacy techniques vs. modern LED workflows.
- Theory on 'Quality of Light' (Hard vs. Soft sources).
- Introduction to protocols: CRMX, LumenRadio, and DMX control.
Equipment Demos
- Fixtures: Showcase of Creamsource Vortex8 and Arri Skypanels.
- Control: Demonstration of wireless apps (Blackout/Luminair) on iPad.
- Modifiers: Usage of soft egg crates, domes, and diffusion fabrics.
- Note: This session is primarily observation-based.
5-Day Professional Gaffer Certification
Program Structure
- Duration: 5 Full Days (10 AM to 5 PM).
- Batch Size: Capped at 6-8 students for safety and access.
- Certification: Signed Certificate of Training upon completion.
Core Curriculum
- Electrical Safety: Managing Single vs. 3-phase power, load balancing, and generators.
- Rigging: Safety protocols for C-stands, trusses, and mounting heavy HMI fixtures (4k/18k).
- Hardware: Hands-on with vintage 80-ampere Autostats and modern RGBACL LED engines.
Practical Training
- Full physical access to warehouse inventory (Arri Fresnels, Vortex series).
- Building and lighting mock sets from scratch.
- Drills on 'Rainproof' setups and cable management.
- Troubleshooting on-set emergencies and fuse blowouts.

My Story
We’re Light And Grips - Mulchand and Hetal Dedhia here. Started way back when film sets ran on jugaad (resourcefulness). First gaffer crew in India, and yes, Hetal broke the mould as the first female gaffer. From Salaam Bombay to Dil Chahta Hai, we’ve sweated it out on set, always backing the DoP’s vision. Training crews, chasing new tech, still learning, still loving the grind.
