About Learn Through Play: Puzzles & Brain Teasers

When a child solves a riddle or unscrambles a tense in my class, they aren't just playing; they are actively thinking in English instead of translating. We use tools like the Sentence Pyramid or grammar-based word searches to take concepts that usually feel dry and turn them into a challenge they actually want to win. It makes the heavy lifting of learning English feel like a weekend hobby, helping them retain rules without the stress of constant memorization.

Learning English doesn't have to feel like a chore. At Learner’s Hub, I strip away the 'boring worksheet' culture because I’ve seen that when kids are under pressure, their creativity shuts down. By introducing elements of play, we lower that barrier.

Why Games Actually Work

Most students get stuck because they are busy translating in their head—flow toot jaata hai (the flow breaks). Our games, like 'Bingo Blast' for sight words or 'Peg It' for vowels, force them to respond immediately. It builds the reflex to think in English.

The Tools We Use

  • The Sentence Pyramid: This helps students take a flat, basic sentence and layer it with adjectives, settings, and reasons. It transforms 'Jane smells a flower' into 'Jane smells a lovely crimson flower in the garden fascinatingly because she loves nature.'
  • Story Cubes: We use these to spark impromptu storytelling, which is essential for overcoming the fear of public speaking.
  • Musical Power Paragraphs: A rhythmic approach to writing that teaches kids how to structure their thoughts without feeling like they are writing an essay.

More Than Just Fun

While the activities are interactive, they are rooted in a structured curriculum covering ICSE, CBSE, and IGCSE standards. Whether we are doing a 'Tip Tuesday' session on conjunctions or a Friday brain teaser, every activity has a clear learning objective. My team and I are focused on ensuring that by the time a student reaches Grade 10, they aren't just passing exams—they are expressing themselves with confidence.

I’m Nisha Sanghavi. I started Learner’s Hub with just three kids because I saw how many students were losing their spark to rote learning. Now, I lead a team of 20, but my focus is still the same: making sure your child actually enjoys the process of mastering English.
