Traditional Indian Ceremony Decor & Setup
Bringing a fresh, modern aesthetic to timeless Indian rituals. We turn your Haldi, Mehendi, and Sagan ceremonies into intimate, photo-worthy gatherings.
A vibrant and festive backdrop for a Haldi or Mehndi ceremony. I used curtains in bright yellow and pink, interwoven with strings of fairy lights, to create this joyful and photo-perfect seating area.
A blissful and serene Guruji Satsang hosted at my Gurugram rooftop. The decor features traditional elements like marigold garlands cascading from earthen pots and bowls of fragrant jasmine and rose petals.
A beautiful "Ghajra mohabbat wala" board for a Sagan ceremony. Guests could pick a fresh gajra (floral bracelet) as a party favor, adding a lovely, fragrant, and traditional touch to the evening.
No Indian celebration is complete without tea. I designed this colorful and quirky 'Chai Station' sign for a Sagan evening, creating a dedicated corner for guests to enjoy a warm cup.
A glimpse of a Mehndi event I decorated at the rooftop. The setup included a traditional backdrop with Hindi lettering and seating arrangements with bright yellow accents to match the festive theme.
A modern and elegant Haldi backdrop. This setup features a golden circular arch draped with bright yellow fabric and adorned with garlands of marigolds and white flowers.
POV: You hosted your intimate wedding at the Shamiyana Rooftop. I created this beautiful floral aisle for the couple's pheras, making their small wedding feel grand and special.
My spacious rooftop is also a perfect location for photoshoots. Here, a model poses against a backdrop of marigold garlands, ideal for festive or ethnic wear brand campaigns.
Fun and playful details for a Sagan party. A basket of colorful bubble wands was provided for guests to add a touch of whimsy and fun to the celebration.
A glimpse of my luxury festive decor for a Diwali party. The rooftop pergola is decorated with hanging strings of jasmine flowers and fairy lights, creating a magical and traditional ambiance.
About Traditional Indian Ceremonies
Traditional doesn't have to mean heavy or old-fashioned. For our Haldi and Sagan setups, we lean into clean, interactive details that guests actually notice, like a 'Ghajra mohabbat wala' favor board or a dedicated Chai station, paired with fresh marigold strings rather than excessive, artificial drapery.
Our approach to traditional events is all about making the space feel like an extension of your home rather than a commercial set. We focus on specific, high-impact areas rather than covering every inch in fabric.
For a Haldi or Mehendi, we create a focal point with a truss backdrop draped in sunshine yellows or vibrant pinks, accented by real marigold strings and white tuberoses. We find that the fragrance of real flowers matters as much as the look, which is why we integrate brass urlis with floating petals and candles to create that serene, aromatic atmosphere.
We love personal touches that give guests something to do. A 'Chai Station' sign with an actual tea setup invites guests to mingle, while a favors board with fresh jasmine gajras is a sensory detail that sticks with people long after the event ends.
While our rooftop in Sushant Lok, Gurugram, is our home base, we can bring these setups to your venue across Delhi-NCR. Whether it's a simple, elegant Sagan with fairy-lit cabanas or a larger family-focused ceremony, we ensure the decor is balanced, clean, and styled for photography.
Shamiyana
We started Shamiyana to be that tucked-away spot in Gurugram where you can just breathe easy. Whether it's an intimate Haldi ceremony or a lively Sagan, we handle the decor so you can focus on the people and the chai. We love keeping traditions personal, clean, and visually aligned with your vibe.
