My approach to Sangeet and Reception nights is hands-on. I do not just stand back; I guide you and your partner for perfect portrait lighting under banquet chandeliers, while moving fast to catch the high-energy dance floor moments without getting in the way.
When shooting Sangeet and Reception nights, the biggest challenge is balancing static, elegant portraits with the chaotic energy of the dance floor. I use a multi-pronged technical approach to handle this. For your couple portraits, I rely on portable Godox and RGB lighting setups to ensure you get those dramatic, high-end looks even if the venue lighting is dim. I prioritize these shots early, giving us a dedicated window to get the right angles before the guests arrive.
On the dance floor, the goal is movement. I use gimbals to keep the performance footage stable and cinematic, focusing on the expressions of the dancers and the crowd's reaction. Whether it is a grand entrance or a high-octane solo performance, I am constantly looking for the small, candid reactions—the groom stealing a look, a friend cheering from the sidelines, or the quiet moments shared between the two of you away from the stage lights. You get a mix of traditional, staged group photos for the family, and artistic, magazine-style shots that feel more like a film. It is all about capturing the energy of the night without making you feel like you are on a film set for hours.
