Modern & Colored Bamboo Pendant Lights
For a contemporary statement, I experiment with bold black dyes and striking two-tone patterns. These handcrafted bamboo lights bridge the gap between traditional weaving and modern design.
This black-dyed bamboo pendant, shown here in a cozy corner, demonstrates how a modern design can still create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The wooden top adds a touch of natural contrast, while the open weave casts beautiful, intricate shadows on the wall.

This two-tone pendant, featuring bands of black and white, is shown illuminated. The light glows warmly through the white section while being elegantly contained by the black, creating a striking visual balance.
Unlit, the graphic quality of this black and white pendant is clear. It’s a modern interpretation of traditional weaving techniques, designed to be a focal point in a contemporary room.

About this collection
The beauty of these colored designs lies in the interplay of light and shadow. When lit, the dense, matte black weave does more than just block light; it directs it, casting precise geometric patterns across your walls that shift as the bulb warms up. It transforms a simple pendant into a sculptural element that defines the mood of your living space.
While my classic work focuses on the raw, golden hues of bamboo, this collection is where I test the boundaries of the material. By introducing matte black dyes and white fiber integrations, I am creating pieces that hold their own in minimalist, high-contrast interiors.
Design and Craftsmanship
Each colored pendant starts with the same sustainable, high-grade bamboo. The dyeing process is done carefully to ensure the color penetrates the fiber without compromising the flexibility needed for the weave. For the two-tone pieces, I map out the pattern before weaving begins, ensuring the transition between colors remains seamless even when the lamp is glowing.
Styling Your Space
These lights are designed to be more than just functional fixtures. The black-dyed pendants are particularly effective in rooms with white or light-grey walls, where the contrast creates an instant focal point. The two-tone options, with their chevron or striped patterns, add texture to simpler spaces like hallways or breakfast nooks. Because they are open-weave, they maintain an airy feel despite their bolder aesthetic, ensuring they do not overwhelm your ceiling.
Care and Longevity
Just like my natural collection, these pieces are treated for pest resistance and finished with a protective varnish. To keep the color vibrant and the weave dust-free, a gentle wipe with a soft, dry cloth is all that is required. These lights are built to age gracefully, and the natural bamboo structure beneath the dye will ensure they retain their shape for years to come.
