The beautiful curve of a bentwood chair, crafted from a single piece of solid teak. This technique requires skill and patience, resulting in a seamless and strong form.

About The Art of the Craft: A Closer Look
Look closely at the corners and the way the rattan meets the teak frame. We use traditional mortise and tenon joinery instead of exterior screws, which is why our pieces stay rigid and wobble-free for years. It is a slower process, but it is the only way to ensure the wood holds its integrity over time.
When you choose furniture, you are often choosing between mass-produced items and pieces built to last. At our studio in Indiranagar, we opt for the latter. We work exclusively with solid teak because of its durability and natural resistance to the elements, which makes it perfect for Bangalore's climate.
Every piece follows a strict process:
- The Joinery: We avoid metal screws and staples that loosen over time. Instead, we use wood-on-wood joints that lock together. This allows the furniture to expand and contract naturally as the seasons change without cracking or losing stability.
- The Materials: We pair our teak with natural cane and rattan. These are not just aesthetic choices. Rattan provides a breathable, flexible surface that adds visual lightness to the heavy teak frames. It is a technique that requires significant skill to weave evenly by hand.
- The Finish: We avoid synthetic laminates. We prefer hand-rubbed oil or matte PU finishes. These allow you to feel the grain of the wood, which changes and develops character as the years go by.
If you have been looking for furniture that feels warm rather than showroom cold, you are in the right place. We invite you to visit our studio to run your hands over the wood grain yourself. Bilkul teak hai.
