Commanding the Crowd: High-Energy Emceeing for Large Events
Massive crowds need massive energy. Whether it is a festival stage or a large corporate gala, I keep thousands of people engaged, entertained, and on their feet from start to finish.
Day 1 of Navratri 2025! There's nothing like the feeling of being on stage, mic in hand, ready to kick off nine nights of non-stop energy and dance. This is where I feel most alive.
I call Garba 'Cultural Cardio'. This clip shows the incredible energy of the crowd on Day 2 of Navratri. My job is to get everyone moving and make sure they have the time of their lives.
Day 4 of Navratri, and the energy is still soaring. Dancing with the crowd and seeing thousands of people enjoying the music is an experience like no other.
Being invited to conduct my Signature Dance Masterclass for over 3000 participants at the Brahmakumaris Headquarters was surreal. Seeing the joy on every face and connecting with so many people is what my motto 'Entertain. Educate. Empower.' is all about.
About Commanding the Crowd: Large-Scale Events
When handling crowds of thousands, the secret is never just talking at the audience. I use specific floor-based engagement techniques and instant crowd-reading to keep the energy spike going, whether I am managing a Sangeet stage or a massive festival ground. My job is to ensure the momentum stays consistent, even during tech transitions or pauses, so the crowd never loses interest.
Managing a large event is all about control and connection. When you have a crowd of hundreds or thousands, you cannot afford to have any dead air. My approach is to be the bridge between your technical setup and the audience. I coordinate directly with sound and light teams to ensure that my cues are seamless and that the visuals match the script, creating a polished flow.
I treat every large-scale event with the same philosophy of 'Entertain, Educate, Empower'. For corporate shows or public festivals like Navratri, I focus on inclusive, bilingual anchoring. This ensures that no matter how diverse the audience, everyone feels part of the show. I don't just announce the next act. I create interactive segments, play games that translate well to big screens, and use the roving mic to pull energy from the crowd.
Expect a host who is hands-on. If the music drops, I fill the gap. If the crowd needs a push to start dancing, I am the first one on the floor. My 12 years of experience have taught me that people remember how you made them feel, not just what was said on the microphone. Whether it is a corporate milestone or a community celebration, I am there to make sure the vibe is always electric.
Kunal Jessani
I am Kunal, and I treat every stage like it is my home. I do not just hold the mic. I feed off the crowd's energy and amplify it, making sure everyone from the front row to the very back feels like they are part of the action.
