Creative Studio Portraits and Artistic Photography
Step away from standard catalog shots. I love experimenting with colored gels, slow shutter speeds, and dramatic shadows to create that 'hatke' (offbeat) look for your brand campaigns.
A striking portrait using a mix of warm and cool colored light gels. This technique creates a dramatic, high-fashion look and makes the model's features pop.
Using a slow shutter speed to create artistic light trails. This effect adds a sense of motion and energy to the portrait, perfect for an edgy campaign.
Another experimental shot combining a slow shutter with a flash to create a ghostly, layered effect. It's an abstract and artistic way to capture a mood.
A similar double-exposure effect that creates a mysterious and captivating portrait.
This portrait uses the light trails to frame the model, creating a dynamic and visually interesting composition.
A close-up portrait where the motion blur from the slow shutter adds a dreamy, ethereal quality.
A full-body shot where the light trails create a sense of powerful movement around the model.
A pensive pose enhanced by the abstract streaks of light, adding an emotional depth to the image.
A profile shot where the light trails seem to emanate from the model, creating a vibrant and energetic feel.
A final portrait in the series, combining a strong pose with the creative lighting for a memorable and artistic image.
About Creative Studio Portraits
When we move into creative campaign shoots, I ditch the standard setup. We will be using RGB gels and projection gobos to paint with light right here in my Ghansoli studio. It is an interactive process where I tether my camera to a laptop so you see exactly how the shot looks in real-time, letting us adjust the mood board on the fly until we nail that exact vision.
Photography is often about following rules, but in my studio, I prefer to break them. These creative sessions are designed for brands that need visuals to stand out on social media or in digital lookbooks. Because we are using techniques like slow shutter synchronization and colored gel lighting, the process is very much a collaborative experiment.
We typically start with a brief alignment on your mood board. Whether you want a moody, cinematic vibe with deep blue shadows or a high-energy look with vibrant light trails, my Ghansoli facility is fully equipped to handle it. The studio features a controlled environment where we can manipulate light modifiers, snoots, and gobos to create unique textures on the backdrop and your subject.
Since this involves complex lighting and styling, I recommend these sessions for clients who have a specific theme in mind. I work with a dedicated team of makeup artists and stylists to ensure the final output feels cohesive. We shoot tethered, which means every click is instantly visible on my laptop monitor. You get to see the composition, the light distribution, and the shadow play as it happens. This allows us to make micro-adjustments to poses or lighting angles instantly, ensuring that we get the exact shot you came for. If you have an offbeat idea or a concept that needs a bit of technical heavy lifting, bring it to the studio and let us figure out how to make it real.
