About Building Skills: Drills & Training
Our sessions do not rely on repetitive, boring drills that drain enthusiasm. Instead, we use game-based exercises where your child learns agility, dribbling, and ball control while playing. It is about building muscle memory naturally so they develop the confidence to handle the ball under pressure on the pitch.
How We Build Skills
At Kopana, we strip away the pressure of competitive drills. Our methodology is rooted in the 'Joy of Football' curriculum, where each exercise serves a specific technical purpose without the child feeling like they are in a boot camp.
The Curriculum
We categorize our training by age and ability, ensuring that every player is challenged without being overwhelmed.
- Ball Mastery: We focus on close control, teaching players to keep the ball near their feet in tight spaces.
- Agility & Coordination: Using ladders, hurdles, and cones, we work on footwork patterns that translate directly to on-field movement.
- Game-Based Learning: The final 20 to 30 minutes of every session is dedicated to 5v5 or 7v7 match simulations. This is where the drills click into place and players learn decision-making.
Our Approach to Development
We understand that progress takes time. Our coaches are trained to provide constructive, gentle feedback rather than shouting instructions. Whether it is a 4-year-old taking their first dribbling steps or an U14 player refining their shooting technique, we focus on the process over the outcome.
We provide specialized training for girls in Mumbai at our Juhu and Bandra turfs, creating a space where they feel comfortable taking risks and learning from their mistakes. Our goal is to develop players who are confident with the ball at their feet and passionate about the game.
