Architect Talks: My Design Philosophy
A home is more than a structure; it's a story waiting to be told. In these sessions, I share the core principles behind my work, from sketching initial concepts to using natural materials and light to create spaces that are honest, functional, and deeply connected to your life.
Client Stories: Homes with Soul
The most rewarding part of my work is seeing a house become a home. Here, my clients share their experiences in their own words, talking about how their new spaces have shaped their lives, brought them peace, and fulfilled their dreams.
Project: A Tale of Two Cultures - The Gopalan Florenza Apartment
This 3BHK apartment interior was designed for a family with deep Mangalorean roots and a love for Hindustani music. I used warm Athangudi tiles, carved wooden columns, and a minimal palette to create a space that feels both culturally grounded and modernly serene.
Project: The 'Arivu' Sensory Home - Shashidhar Residence
This home is the embodiment of my 'Arivu' philosophy, designed to engage all the senses. I used natural materials like stone and terracotta, along with features like skylights and jali screens, to create a living environment that is constantly interacting with light, air, and nature.
Project: A Farmhouse in the Hills - Raghunath Residence, Kotagiri
Nestled in the tea estates of Kotagiri, this farmhouse was designed to embrace its stunning natural surroundings. I used large windows, split-level living spaces, and natural materials like local stone to create a home that feels open, serene, and completely at one with the landscape.
Signature Elements: The Play of Light & Air
I believe that a home should breathe. I use skylights, courtyards, and traditional jali screens not just as decorative elements, but as functional tools to draw in natural light, encourage cross-ventilation, and create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.
Signature Elements: Earthy & Natural Materials
I believe in using materials that are honest, local, and connect us to the earth. From the cool touch of kotta stone and the warmth of terracotta to the timeless beauty of wood and the handcrafted charm of Athangudi tiles, these materials form the soul of my designs.
Project Showcase: Residences of Character
Every home has a unique story. This collection showcases a variety of projects, from the timeless elegance of the Dr. Rehamat and V S Sreedhara residences to the modern functionality of the Anand and Gopal homes, each designed to reflect the distinct personality of its owners.
Smart Solutions for Compact Spaces
Limited space is an invitation to design smarter. This collection showcases my work on compact apartments and homes, where I use custom multi-functional furniture, clever storage solutions, and a light color palette to create spaces that feel open, airy, and perfectly suited to modern urban living.
The Craft of Building
Great design is brought to life through skilled craftsmanship. This section offers a behind-the-scenes look at the construction process, from the meticulous art of laying traditional tiles to the technical precision of pointing brickwork and the sustainable method of creating lime plaster.
Institutional Design: Aurinko Academy
My design philosophy extends beyond homes to spaces for learning and growth. For Aurinko Academy, I designed a building with unique, curved structures and light-filled interiors to create an environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in young students.
