Rustic Retreat & Farmhouse Architecture
We believe a farmhouse should emerge from the land, not be imposed upon it. Our designs prioritize the existing ecosystem, using local materials to craft retreats that feel timeless.
The 'Grid in the Grove' farmhouse was designed to be in complete harmony with its surroundings. The facade, with its terracotta roof and traditional details, is perfectly framed by the coconut and areca nut palms.

This reel captures the mood of the 'Grid in the Grove' farmhouse. It shows how the architecture, with its stone columns and terracotta roof, complements the natural beauty of the coconut grove from day to night.
A collage showcasing 'The Amberly' resort and farmhouse. The design was centered around preserving every single existing tree and incorporating small water bodies to create a space where architecture meets nature.

About this collection
When we design a farmhouse, we do not start with a blueprint—we start with the trees on your plot. At our Amberle project in Yelagiri, we kept every single mature tree standing, adjusting our building footprint to weave the house into the grove. This approach ensures your retreat feels like it has always belonged to that specific patch of earth.
Our approach to rustic architecture is rooted in the landscape. We avoid clearing land to make room for construction. Instead, we map out natural features first. Whether it is the rugged beauty of a granite outcrop or a cluster of coconut palms, these elements become the defining features of your home.
In projects like Grid in the Grove in Sandur, we used local materials like terracotta roof tiles, unfinished granite columns, and laterite blocks to echo the architectural language of nearby Hampi. We find that when you use locally sourced stone and clay, the structure does not just sit on the land—it integrates with it.
We also look at how your retreat changes from day to night. During the day, we focus on maximizing cross-ventilation and creating seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. At night, we use strategic uplighting to highlight the texture of old stone walls and the canopy of trees, turning your farmhouse into a quiet, magical sanctuary.
If you are planning a farmhouse, we can help you with:
- Site grading and layout that respects natural contours.
- Integration of sustainable cooling techniques.
- Material selection based on local availability like granite and laterite.
- Vastu or Manaiyadi Shastra integration if that is important to your vision.
We believe a farmhouse should be a place where you can disconnect, which is why we focus on creating spaces that require less maintenance and feel authentically grounded in nature.
